Karuna Ras (Expressing Grief)
I have been learning traditional Indian Classical Dance - Bharatnatyam for the past 14 years and is an integral part of my life. I have Completed an academic diploma from T.M.V institute, Pune. I have also completed my Bachelor of Arts Equivalent - Visharad degree from Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalay, India. Through this beautiful art form, I have learned patience, gratitude, grace, and immense knowledge about audiences and how to extract reactions from them. I completed my debut recital the Arangetram under the guidance of Guru Dr. Swati Datar.
Karuna ras- The emotion of sorrow. The exiled king Lord Ram comes back to his hut to notice that his beloved wife is missing. He enters the hut he opens the door she is nowhere to be found! He sees the flowers from her braid scattered on the floor. She can't be seen anywhere. The environment has also become sullen. The birds aren't flying, the deers aren't galloping and their necks are hanging low. Even the tree branches seem to have let go because their queen is missing. The king finally sits down in despair and is extremely sad while he asks his wife where should I find you.
