What is Phantom limb pain?
Phantom limb syndrome is a condition in which patients experience sensations, whether painful or otherwise, in a limb that does not exist.
What is Mirror box therapy?
Mirror therapy is one of the very few non-invasive treatments for treating phantom limb pain. It works by essentially “tricking the brain” out of pain. When mirror therapy is practiced, the brain receives information that both limbs are intact and functional. In conditions such as phantom limb pain, where neuropathic processes cause issues with pain, related or unrelated to movement, this approach is thought to offer potential relief.

Designing an apparatus to facilitate mirror therapy at home. The mirror should seamlessly integrate itself into the person’s life and not be a obstrusive and awkward object in the home. This product should also help the amputee in other tasks that are hard to perform with one hand.
